Welcome to The Handy Nomad. These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website, purchases made through our online store, and handyman, cabin care, and related services provided by our business.
By purchasing products, requesting services, or using our website, you agree to the terms applicable to your transaction or service arrangement.
Products and Online Purchases
The Handy Nomad sells handcrafted products, home organization products, seasonal decorations, and other merchandise through its online store.
We make reasonable efforts to accurately describe and photograph our products. However, product colors, wood grain, dimensions, textures, and finishes may vary slightly, particularly with handcrafted items.
Prices and product availability are subject to change without notice. Changes will not affect orders already accepted unless agreed upon with the customer.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel orders involving pricing errors, unavailable products, suspected fraud, or other legitimate business concerns. Any payment collected for a canceled order will be refunded.
Payments and Order Processing
Online purchases are processed through WooCommerce using Stripe as our payment processor.
Payment is generally required when placing an online order unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon.
Orders are subject to availability, payment authorization, and acceptance by The Handy Nomad.
Custom and Made-to-Order Products
Some products are handcrafted or manufactured specifically for a customer’s order.
Customizations, dimensions, finishes, and other specifications should be confirmed before production begins.
Once production has started, cancellations or modifications may not be possible.
Natural variations in wood and other materials are not considered defects unless they materially affect the product’s intended function or agreed-upon specifications.
Shipping, Returns, and Refunds
Product shipping, local pickup, returns, and refunds are governed by our separately published Shipping & Delivery Policy and Refund & Return Policy.
Customers are encouraged to review these policies before purchasing.
Nothing in these policies limits rights provided by applicable consumer protection laws.
Handyman and Cabin Care Services
The Handy Nomad provides handyman, property maintenance, cabin watch, seasonal opening and closing, and related services.
The scope of work, estimated costs, materials, scheduling, and other project-specific requirements will be described in a written estimate, proposal, or service agreement when applicable.
Services outside the agreed scope may require additional authorization and charges.
Service Estimates and Pricing
Estimates are based on the information available when the project is evaluated.
Unexpected conditions, concealed damage, changes requested by the customer, or additional work may affect the final project cost.
The Handy Nomad will communicate material changes to the scope or price and obtain customer authorization before proceeding with additional work.
Unless otherwise stated, estimates do not include work beyond the specifically described scope.
Service Deposits and Payments
Deposit requirements vary depending on the type and size of the project.
Generally, The Handy Nomad requires a deposit equal to the full estimated cost of materials or 50% of the estimated project price, whichever is greater.
The required deposit amount and payment schedule will be specified in the estimate, proposal, or service agreement.
Deposits may be applied toward materials, scheduling, and other authorized project expenses.
Any remaining balance is due according to the payment terms stated in the applicable agreement.
If a required deposit has not been received, The Handy Nomad may postpone scheduling, material purchases, or commencement of work.
Changes, Cancellations, and Rescheduling
Customers should contact The Handy Nomad as soon as possible if they need to cancel, modify, or reschedule a service appointment.
Any charges associated with cancellation will be based on work already performed, materials purchased, nonrecoverable expenses, and the terms of the applicable agreement.
Unused deposit amounts will be refunded after deducting any properly authorized charges, subject to applicable law.
The Handy Nomad may reschedule services because of weather, unsafe conditions, material availability, illness, or other circumstances affecting safe or reasonable completion of the work.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing reasonable access to the property and accurately communicating known conditions that may affect the work.
Customers should identify relevant safety hazards, access restrictions, pets, utility locations, and other circumstances that may affect service delivery.
Customer-supplied materials may be used when agreed upon, but The Handy Nomad is not responsible for defects inherent in those materials. Responsibility for installation workmanship remains subject to applicable law and the service agreement.
Workmanship and Service Concerns
The Handy Nomad strives to provide professional workmanship consistent with the agreed scope of work.
Customers should contact us promptly if they believe completed work does not meet the agreed specifications or has a workmanship-related problem.
We will review reported concerns and determine an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances, the service agreement, and applicable law.
Manufacturer warranties on products or materials are separate from any workmanship commitments provided by The Handy Nomad.
Cabin Watch and Property Monitoring
Cabin watch and property monitoring services consist of the specific inspections, observations, and tasks described in the applicable service agreement.
These services do not constitute continuous surveillance, security protection, insurance coverage, or a guarantee against property damage, theft, weather-related events, equipment failures, or other losses.
The Handy Nomad will communicate observed concerns in accordance with the agreed service arrangements.
Property owners remain responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage and arranging emergency services when necessary.

The text, photographs, graphics, designs, and other original content on this website are provided for informational and commercial purposes.
Content owned by The Handy Nomad may not be reproduced or used commercially without permission, except as allowed by applicable law.

Changes will not retroactively alter an existing purchase or signed service agreement without the parties’ agreement, except as required by law.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply.
